#7 of 9 hotels in Lazimpat by Axel's take. Lazimpat is #4 of 8 places to stay in Kathmandu. The best hotels in Lazimpat, ranked · Where to stay in Kathmandu

Axel's take: 7.9/10

Warm service and comfortable rooms, but five-star polish is uneven. an established five-star business hotel in Lazimpat, scored for what it is.

Radisson Kathmandu is an established five-star business hotel in Lazimpat, stronger on hospitality than contemporary luxury. It's a good pick for a comfortable city base: Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the varied breakfast buffet. The location puts Thamel within walking reach without placing you in its busiest streets, and the gym and spa add appeal after trekking.

The main compromise is consistency: recent guests still describe some facilities as old, and room condition varies between buildings. Guests reported main-building renovations through May 2026 and a pool closure in April. Later Tripadvisor reviews praise the pool, but the official site gives no renovation completion update; confirm your building and facility access before booking. We'd choose it for service and practical comfort, but skip it if freshly finished interiors and seamless luxury are priorities.

Best for: business travelers; post-trek comfort; sightseers wanting a quieter base
Watch out for: dated facilities in some areas; room standards vary between buildings; confirm renovation status and pool access
Location: Lazimpat base within walking reach of Thamel, set away from the main tourist bustle.
Rooms: Comfort and space earn praise, but some rooms and facilities feel dated.
Cleanliness: Generally well reviewed across sites; Booking.com rates cleanliness strongly.
Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.
Amenities: Restaurants, gym, spa and advertised outdoor pool; past pool disruption warrants checking.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion varies; airport transfers cost extra, while on-site parking is complimentary.
