#2 of 5 hotels in Durbar Marg & Naxal by Axel's take. Durbar Marg & Naxal is #3 of 8 places to stay in Kathmandu. The best hotels in Durbar Marg & Naxal, ranked · Where to stay in Kathmandu

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong central base with welcoming staff, though maintenance can be uneven. a practical 4-star city hotel near Durbar Marg, scored for what it is.

Landmark Kathmandu is a practical 4-star city hotel, best chosen for its central location and helpful staff rather than luxury extras. We'd shortlist it for sightseeing or a straightforward business stay: Durbar Marg's shops and restaurants are close, with Thamel within walking reach. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests broadly agree on clean, comfortable rooms and welcoming service; recent feedback remains mostly positive.

The main reservations are breakfast variety and uneven room maintenance. Tripadvisor and MakeMyTrip reviews include repeated complaints about limited breakfast choices, plus some 2025 reports of faulty air-conditioning and other room equipment. These aren't the dominant experience, but we'd check the cooling and hot water on arrival. Don't book specifically for the catalog's outdoor pool: the official site doesn't advertise one. Skip it if you want extensive leisure facilities or consistently polished four-star delivery.

  • Best for: sightseers who prefer a central base; business travelers; families wanting practical room options

  • Watch out for: limited or repetitive breakfast choices; some reports of faulty room equipment; catalog-listed outdoor pool is unconfirmed

  • Location: Convenient for Durbar Marg shopping and restaurants, with Thamel within walking reach.

  • Rooms: Double, twin and family rooms; comfort is generally praised, but some guests report maintenance faults.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn frequent praise, despite occasional complaints about problem handling.

  • Amenities: Officially lists a restaurant, cocktail bar, free Wi-Fi, parking and meeting facilities; no pool advertised.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport pickup costs extra; check whether breakfast is included in your booking.
