Axel's take: 7.8/10
A good downtown base with fresh design, but noise and parking limit the appeal. A renovated mid-range boutique hotel in downtown Kona, not a beachfront resort, scored for what it is.
PACIFIC 19 Kona is a renovated mid-range boutique hotel, best treated as a base for exploring rather than a resort vacation. We'd pick it for the walkable location near Ali‘i Drive, restaurants and Kailua Pier. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The outdoor pool, morning coffee, poolside yoga and loaner beach equipment give this otherwise straightforward hotel some personality.
The trade-offs are practical: guests report road and neighboring-room noise, while the small paid parking lot repeatedly causes frustration. A mandatory nightly amenity fee also needs factoring in; laundry costs extra. Service is mostly warmly reviewed, but check-in delays recur. It's a good fit for independent travelers who spend their days out. We'd skip it for a quiet honeymoon or a full-service beachfront stay.
