Axel's take: 8.8/10
Spacious, refreshed condos make a strong family base, but this isn't a beachfront resort. A mid-range timeshare condo resort near downtown Kona, scored for what it is.
Club Wyndham Kona is a mid-range timeshare condo resort, and it's a strong pick for families who want space rather than full-service hotel pampering. Two-bedroom suites have kitchens, laundry and private lanais, while landscaped grounds and two pools give downtime a purpose. Wyndham announced fully updated interiors in January 2026; recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests back that up with praise for refreshed rooms, cleanliness and helpful staff.
The trade-offs are mostly about the setup: it's not beachfront, there's no on-site restaurant, and Wyndham recommends a car because walking routes into town lack continuous sidewalks. Upstairs suites have no elevators. Guests also mention timeshare sales invitations, although some report an easy refusal. We'd skip it for a beach-at-your-door holiday; for a self-catering Kona base, it delivers very well.
