Axel's take: 6.6/10

Spacious rooms and welcoming staff, but maintenance and renovation noise limit the appeal. an aging 4-star city hotel with a courtyard pool in Giza, scored for what it is.

Amarante Pyramids is an aging 4-star city hotel whose courtyard pool and spacious rooms are stronger selling points than polished comfort. We'd consider it for a budget-conscious Giza stay, provided you're comfortable arranging transport for sightseeing. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms, although the overall feedback is mixed rather than consistently reassuring.

The main compromise is upkeep: dated interiors and repeated air-conditioning complaints make this a weaker choice if dependable comfort matters most. Renovation work is another concern, with loud construction reported in July 2026 and an Expedia guest still noting work in September 2026; completion is unconfirmed. We'd skip it for a quiet pool-focused holiday or a polished four-star experience. Confirm construction status and working air-conditioning before committing.

• Best for: budget-conscious Giza visitors; sightseers using arranged transport

• Watch out for: renovation work reported through September 2026; recurring air-conditioning problems; dated rooms and facilities

• Location: An urban Giza base off Pyramids Road; plan on transport rather than walking to major sights.

• Rooms: Spacious, but dated; multiple guests report unreliable air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: Recent praise is encouraging, but aggregate cleanliness ratings remain mixed.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn repeated praise, though reception experiences vary.

• Amenities: The courtyard pool is a highlight; restaurant, gym and Wi-Fi are listed.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast, parking and airport transfers can cost extra; Egyptian-only room bookings require Egyptian ID.
