Axel's take: 6.9/10

Useful space and location, but uneven upkeep makes this a cautious pick. a simple 3-star city hotel with suites and apartments in Dokki, scored for what it is.

Jewel Dokki is a simple 3-star city hotel with suites and apartments, better suited to practical stays than a polished holiday. We'd consider it for extra space and a convenient Dokki–Mohandessin base. Booking.com's roughly 7/10 overall rating is a useful reality check: location and staff score better than facilities and value, while guests across other sites also praise spacious rooms and helpful receptionists.

The compromises are uneven cleaning, rooms needing attention and a breakfast that divides opinion. An Agoda guest in late 2025 reported traffic noise throughout the day. A May 2025 guest on ReadyToTrip described upstairs construction and an unavailable booked apartment; whether that work has finished is unconfirmed. Confirm the room layout, breakfast inclusion and total charges in writing, since payment disputes appear on more than one site. We'd skip it for a quiet getaway or reliably polished housekeeping.

• Best for: families needing extra space; practical stays around Dokki and Mohandessin

• Watch out for: traffic noise and uneven room upkeep; confirm breakfast and all extra charges; May 2025 construction report; current status unconfirmed

• Location: Convenient Dokki–Mohandessin address; location is one of Booking.com guests' stronger-rated features.

• Rooms: Suites and apartments offer space, but some guests report maintenance needs; confirm the exact layout.

• Cleanliness: Mixed rather than consistently poor: clean-room praise sits alongside requests for deeper cleaning.

• Service: Helpful receptionists earn praise, although payment handling and reservation delivery receive criticism.

• Amenities: The official site lists a rooftop restaurant, coffee shop and laundry; other listings include free Wi-Fi and a lift.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists an optional housekeeping charge; confirm breakfast, nationality-based rate eligibility and cancellation terms before paying.
