#9 of 9 hotels in River Road & Park Entrance by Axel's take. River Road & Park Entrance is #2 of 6 places to stay in Gatlinburg. The best hotels in River Road & Park Entrance, ranked · Where to stay in Gatlinburg

Axel's take: 5.8/10

The walkable location is the draw, but room upkeep makes this a gamble. a basic 2-star, motel-style hotel in downtown Gatlinburg, scored for what it is.

Quality Inn Creekside is a basic 2-star, motel-style hotel whose biggest advantage is downtown Gatlinburg: restaurants, attractions and the convention center are easy to reach on foot. We'd consider it for a location-first budget trip, but not as a dependable all-rounder. Guests repeatedly appreciate the creek-facing balconies, and some report comfortable beds and helpful staff. Free hot breakfast and a seasonal outdoor pool cover the basics.

The problem is consistency, not simply dated decor. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly describe musty smells, poor cleaning and broken room fixtures, alongside genuinely satisfied visitors. Service also varies, particularly when problems need resolving. We'd skip it if reliable cleanliness matters more than walking convenience. Confirm parking terms before booking: Choice currently lists a parking charge, despite conflicting information elsewhere.

Best for: location-first budget travelers; short downtown sightseeing stays
Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and musty rooms; worn fixtures and maintenance problems; conflicting parking information
Location: The strongest asset: walkable access to Parkway attractions, restaurants and the convention center.
Rooms: Some have creek-facing balconies or fireplaces, but condition and maintenance vary considerably.
Cleanliness: Clean-room praise coexists with recurring reports of mustiness, mold and inadequate housekeeping.
Service: Helpful front-desk staff earn praise, but staffing and problem handling receive mixed feedback.
Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and a seasonal outdoor pool; do not assume an indoor pool.
Fees and surprises: Choice lists parking and dog fees; confirm parking arrangements. Fireplaces operate October–March, and pool dates are seasonal.
