#7 of 7 hotels in East Parkway by Axel's take. East Parkway is #4 of 6 places to stay in Gatlinburg. The best hotels in East Parkway, ranked · Where to stay in Gatlinburg

Axel's take: 6.7/10

Refreshed rooms offer promise, but ongoing renovations make this a cautious budget pick. a basic 2-star, motel-style lodge outside downtown, scored for what it is.

Gatlinburg View Lodge is a basic, motel-style 2-star about a mile from downtown. We'd consider it for a short, budget-minded stay, especially with a confirmed renovated room. Several 2026 Expedia guests praise clean, refreshed interiors and easy check-in; free parking and a nearby trolley stop add practical value. But Expedia's strong overall rating contrasts with a considerably weaker Booking.com score, so consistency remains the concern.

Booking.com currently warns of major renovations, construction activity and photos that may not reflect the property. Recent Expedia feedback also describes rough exteriors and uneven room condition, while older Booking.com and Tripadvisor reviews document housekeeping and check-in problems. Don't count on the advertised community center without confirmation: a July 2026 guest reported it missing. We'd skip it for a polished getaway or dependable on-site assistance; access-code check-in, no elevator and a damage deposit warrant planning.

Best for: Budget-minded travelers on short stays; Drivers using the trolley to explore
Watch out for: Major renovations and potentially outdated photos; Uneven room condition and limited on-site assistance; No elevator
Location: About a mile from downtown, with a trolley stop by the property; not directly on the main strip.
Rooms: Renovated rooms attract praise, but recent feedback shows condition still varies.
Cleanliness: Many recent Expedia guests praise cleanliness, though negative reports mean it is not reliably consistent.
Service: Access-code check-in can be straightforward; confirm arrival instructions and how to reach help.
Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi; confirm community-center and shared-kitchen availability before relying on them.
Fees and surprises: A refundable damage deposit is required; major renovations are disclosed, and there is no elevator.
