#4 of 7 hotels in East Parkway by Axel's take. East Parkway is #4 of 6 places to stay in Gatlinburg. The best hotels in East Parkway, ranked · Where to stay in Gatlinburg

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A practical downtown base for families, provided you choose your condo carefully. Simple, individually furnished vacation condos near downtown Gatlinburg, scored for what it is.

Gatlinburg Chateau Rentals is a collection of simple vacation condos, not a conventional hotel. We'd consider it a good-value family base: two-bedroom layouts, cooking facilities and free parking make longer stays practical, while downtown attractions are walkable. Recent Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the location, space and generally clean accommodation. Balconies and town or mountain views add appeal, depending on the unit.

The catch is consistency. Reviews across both sites describe dated furnishings, and several Booking.com guests mention uncomfortable or worn mattresses. Some condos are updated; others clearly need attention, so check photos and reviews for your exact unit. There is no hotel-style front desk, and arrival instructions matter. Booking.com lists the outdoor pool closed October 1, 2026–April 30, 2027. We'd skip it for polished interiors, full-service hospitality or an autumn swimming trip.

  • Best for: Families wanting separate bedrooms; Self-catering downtown stays; Travelers prioritizing space over style

  • Watch out for: Condition and bedding vary by condo; Outdoor pool closed October 1, 2026–April 30, 2027; No on-site front desk

  • Location: Walkable to downtown attractions; guests consistently rate the location highly.

  • Rooms: Useful two-bedroom layouts and cooking facilities, but recurring complaints about dated furniture and mattresses.

  • Cleanliness: Generally praised across Booking.com and Expedia, with occasional unit-specific lapses.

  • Service: Some guests praise responsive communication; expect rental-style arrangements rather than hotel service.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking, balconies and seasonal outdoor pool; furnishings and equipment vary.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is included; Expedia lists off-site check-in arrangements, so follow your arrival email carefully.
