#7 of 9 hotels in Clovis by Axel's take. Clovis is #3 of 5 places to stay in Fresno. The best hotels in Clovis, ranked · Where to stay in Fresno

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong budget pick for spacious rooms, with a few practical caveats. a no-frills 2-star motor lodge in Clovis, scored for what it is.

Rodeo Lodge is a no-frills 2-star motor lodge in Clovis, not central Fresno, and it's a strong pick for travelers who want space without paying for extras. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the large rooms, helpful staff and generally good cleanliness. Free parking and rooms with kitchenettes make it particularly practical for road trips or longer visits, with restaurants and shopping nearby.

The trade-offs are worth knowing: kitchenettes may lack cookware, and some guests report maintenance glitches. A small number of reviews across several sites also mention cockroaches, although the overall cleanliness feedback remains strongly positive. The outdoor pool is seasonal; Expedia lists an October-to-June closure but gives conflicting opening dates, so confirm directly before counting on a swim. We'd skip it if polished facilities or dependable pool access are essential.

  • Best for: budget-conscious road trippers; longer stays in kitchenette rooms; travelers with pets

  • Watch out for: occasional pest and maintenance reports; kitchenettes may lack cookware; seasonal pool; confirm opening dates

  • Location: On Clovis Avenue near restaurants and shopping; Old Town is roughly a 20-minute walk.

  • Rooms: Spacious motel rooms; kitchen-equipped categories are available, but cookware is not assured.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall guest ratings, tempered by occasional cockroach reports across several sites.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the most consistent positives in guest feedback.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and parking, guest laundry and a seasonal outdoor pool; no breakfast provided.

  • Fees and surprises: Pets cost extra; no elevator, and published pool-season dates conflict.
