Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong TCU base with spacious rooms and a rooftop worth using. a modern 3-star hotel beside TCU, scored for what it is.

This modern 3-star beside TCU is a strong pick for campus visits, with more personality than the usual Hyatt Place. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, helpful staff and a breakfast that exceeds basic chain-hotel expectations. Cleanliness feedback is predominantly positive. The outdoor pool, round-the-clock gym and Lot 12 rooftop bar give families and visiting parents useful reasons to spend time at the hotel, rather than just sleep here.

The main compromises are location and extras: you're choosing campus convenience, not a downtown sightseeing base, and parking costs extra. Hyatt currently advertises free breakfast, but some guests report exclusions through third-party bookings, so confirm your reservation's terms. We'd choose it for TCU access and dependable mid-range comfort; we'd look elsewhere if free parking or walking to downtown attractions matters most.

  • Best for: TCU parents and campus visitors; families wanting extra room; travelers who enjoy a rooftop bar

  • Watch out for: paid parking; confirm breakfast inclusion; not a downtown walking base

  • Location: Excellent for walking to TCU; less convenient for sightseeing downtown on foot.

  • Rooms: Spacious rooms with sofa beds; comfort feedback is largely positive, though mattress preferences vary.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, with occasional housekeeping misses rather than a consistent problem.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise; a few reservation disputes temper the picture.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, Lot 12 rooftop dining and virtual golf—not an indoor pool or golf course.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur charges; verify breakfast inclusion because guest reports differ from Hyatt's current free-breakfast promise.
