Axel's take: 7.8/10

Friendly staff and clean rooms make this practical, but noise is the main compromise. a straightforward 3-star chain hotel near TCU, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star Fairfield is a good pick for TCU visits and short Fort Worth stays, particularly if clean rooms and helpful staff matter more than fresh interiors. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcome, comfortable beds and housekeeping. The included breakfast also earns positive mentions, and nearby restaurants make the location useful beyond campus visits.

The trade-off is peace and quiet: Tripadvisor guests flag trains, a nearby sports bar and sound carrying between rooms, while some describe dated interiors. Marriott also warns of ongoing University Drive construction. Parking carries a daily charge, despite some listings suggesting otherwise. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat; for a practical overnight, it delivers the basics well. Confirm the indoor pool before booking: recent guests report using it, but Marriott still displays an ambiguously dated closure notice.

  • Best for: TCU visitors; Short business stays; Travelers prioritizing friendly service

  • Watch out for: Train, nightlife and room-to-room noise; University Drive construction; Paid parking and conflicting pool information

  • Location: Convenient for TCU, nearby restaurants and Fort Worth attractions; Marriott warns of University Drive construction.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable beds and practical rooms, though some guests describe dated interiors and poor sound insulation.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent guest feedback, supported by strong Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the clearest recurring highlight across review sites.

  • Amenities: Included hot breakfast and a fitness center; October 2026 guests report using the indoor pool, despite Marriott's undated-year April 8 closure notice.

  • Fees and surprises: On-site parking is charged daily; Marriott lists housekeeping every other day and no airport shuttle.
