Manta-ray outings are the standout evening activity, while Keauhou Shopping Center supplies everyday shopping and meals uphill from the waterfront. It suits families and couples who want somewhere to settle rather than somewhere to keep moving.

Be clear about the trade-off: this is not walkable downtown Kona, and the bay itself is a working boat area rather than a swimming beach. Kahaluʻu is a separate outing north along Aliʻi Drive. Bring a car for flexibility, and skip Keauhou if spontaneous bar-hopping or a broad sandy beach defines your trip.
