This is Bangkok for river crossings, old trading streets and evenings watching boats rather than traffic. On the Bang Rak side, Charoen Krung mixes food shops, galleries and the old post-office district; across the water, Charoen Nakhon brings ICONSIAM and neighborhood lanes. It suits couples and travelers who prefer a slower start.

The deciding detail is your route to a pier or station. Saphan Taksin is useful; farther along either bank, you may add a shuttle, ferry or taxi to each outing. Do not assume a river view means an easy waterfront walk. Skip it if you want spontaneous Sukhumvit nights without planning the return.
