#5 of 9 hotels in Ormond Beach Oceanfront by Axel's take. Ormond Beach Oceanfront is #6 of 6 places to stay in Daytona Beach. The best hotels in Ormond Beach Oceanfront, ranked · Where to stay in Daytona Beach

Axel's take: 7.9/10

A good family beach base, with practical kitchens and a few service trade-offs. a mid-range beachfront condo-style resort, scored for what it is.

Grand Seas is a mid-range beachfront condo-style resort, strongest for families who want kitchen facilities and easy beach days rather than full-service pampering. We'd pick it for the oceanfront setting, indoor and outdoor pools, and convenient supermarket across the street. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the refreshed rooms, cleanliness and friendly staff; the larger suites make longer stays practical.

The trade-offs are worth knowing: guests report limited housekeeping, occasional noise between units and tight parking when busy. Many accommodations lack balconies, despite Sonesta advertising some, so confirm the exact room rather than assuming oceanfront means outdoor space. A daily resort fee covers essentials including parking for one vehicle and Wi-Fi. We'd skip it if daily room cleaning, a guaranteed balcony or walking access to Daytona's main nightlife matters most.

  • Best for: families wanting kitchen facilities; longer self-catering beach stays; travelers preferring quieter north Daytona

  • Watch out for: confirm balcony availability; limited housekeeping and occasional inter-room noise; daily resort fee and busy-period parking pressure

  • Location: Directly on the beach, with groceries and restaurants across the street; away from the main boardwalk bustle.

  • Rooms: Refreshed studios and suites with kitchens; choose street versus ocean views carefully and verify any balcony.

  • Cleanliness: Recent reviews are predominantly positive, though isolated floor-cleaning complaints remain.

  • Service: Friendly reception earns repeated praise; housekeeping is not the conventional daily hotel service.

  • Amenities: Indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, gym, Beachside Café and Tiki Bar; recent guests confirm beach access.

  • Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee includes Wi-Fi and one standard vehicle; confirm checkout time because Sonesta's page is inconsistent.
