Axel's take: 8.3/10

Strong family facilities and helpful staff, with a walk to the sightseeing core. a large, family-friendly 4-star hotel and conference center, scored for what it is.

Tivoli is a large, family-friendly 4-star conference hotel, and we'd choose it for its facilities rather than doorstep sightseeing. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and a generous breakfast. The indoor pool, sauna, gym and skyline restaurants give it more substance than a basic city base, particularly for families and conference travelers.

The trade-off is scale and location: this isn't an intimate Copenhagen hideaway, and the hotel puts Central Station and Tivoli Gardens about 15 minutes away on foot. Standard rooms are compact, while some family guests find space tight once the sofa bed opens. Breakfast can get busy, and parking and breakfast may cost extra. Crucially, children must be toilet-trained to use the pool; swim diapers aren't allowed. We'd skip it for a romantic boutique stay or sightseeing with minimal walking.

• Best for: families with toilet-trained children; conference travelers; travelers who prioritize a pool and gym

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms and some tight family layouts; roughly 15-minute walk to Tivoli Gardens; no swim diapers in the pool

• Location: Walkable rather than doorstep-central; the hotel estimates 15 minutes to Central Station and Tivoli Gardens.

• Rooms: Standard rooms are 15–20 square meters; choose family layouts carefully if using a sofa bed.

• Cleanliness: Generally strong guest feedback, with Booking.com and Expedia both rating cleanliness positively.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia reviews.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, sauna, gym, children's play facilities and several restaurants; pool access is included.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; check breakfast inclusion, and note the pool's toilet-training requirement.
