#3 of 9 hotels in Vesterbro & Central Station by Axel's take. Vesterbro & Central Station is #2 of 7 places to stay in Copenhagen. The best hotels in Vesterbro & Central Station, ranked · Where to stay in Copenhagen

Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong central hostel with sociable spaces, compact rooms and pay-extra facilities. a modern, facilities-rich budget hostel with dorms and private rooms, scored for what it is.

Steel House is a modern budget hostel, not a conventional hotel, and it's a strong pick for exploring Copenhagen without sacrificing useful facilities. Its location near Vesterport, Central Station and Tivoli is a major strength. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, generally clean rooms and welcoming communal spaces. The bar, cinema, indoor pool and gym give it more to offer than a basic bunkhouse.

The compromise is upstairs: rooms are compact, including private options, and dorm privacy is limited. Recent guests also flag the extras: kitchen access, swimming, gym use and luggage storage all cost more. We'd choose it for a short, sociable city break rather than a stay spent in the room. Skip it if you want generous space, hotel-style privacy or facilities included as standard.

  • Best for: solo travelers on a budget; friends on short city breaks; travelers who enjoy communal spaces

  • Watch out for: compact rooms and limited dorm privacy; paid kitchen, pool, gym and luggage storage; shared dorms restricted to adults

  • Location: Central, walkable base near Vesterport, Central Station and Tivoli.

  • Rooms: Four- and six-bed dorms plus private rooms; compact layouts with en-suite bathrooms.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive recent feedback, with some complaints about bathroom cleaning.

  • Service: Helpful, friendly staff are a recurring positive; assistance is available around the clock.

  • Amenities: Bar, cinema, games, indoor pool, gym, guest kitchen and laundry; Wi-Fi is free.

  • Fees and surprises: Kitchen, pool, gym and luggage storage carry charges; bring a padlock for your dorm locker.
