#1 of 6 hotels in Østerbro & Nordhavn by Axel's take. Østerbro & Nordhavn is #5 of 7 places to stay in Copenhagen. The best hotels in Østerbro & Nordhavn, ranked · Where to stay in Copenhagen

Axel's take: 8.8/10

Generous waterfront apartments make a strong family base, but construction and summer heat matter. an upscale 4-star apartment hotel on Copenhagen’s developing waterfront, scored for what it is.

STAY Nordhavn is an upscale apartment hotel rather than a conventional full-service four-star, and it’s a strong pick for families wanting room to spread out. Proper kitchens, washing machines and separate bedrooms make longer stays practical. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Nearby supermarkets, cafés and metro connections make this waterfront neighborhood convenient, even though the historic center isn’t on your doorstep.

The main reservation is noise: Booking.com currently warns of North Harbour construction on weekdays, and guests also mention nearby trains. There’s no air-conditioning, so opening windows in summer can compound the problem. Housekeeping comes every seventh day, not daily. We’d choose it for space and independence; we’d skip it for guaranteed quiet, cool summer bedrooms or daily hotel-style servicing.

  • Best for: families needing separate bedrooms; longer self-catering stays; friends sharing an apartment

  • Watch out for: weekday construction and train noise; no air-conditioning; weekly rather than daily housekeeping

  • Location: Waterfront Nordhavn, near supermarkets and metro links; outside the historic center.

  • Rooms: Spacious one- to three-bedroom apartments with kitchens and laundry; summer heat can be an issue.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across major booking sites; scheduled cleaning is every seventh day.

  • Service: Reception operates around the clock, with predominantly strong feedback for helpful staff.

  • Amenities: Free gym and Wi-Fi, restaurant/bar, and breakfast available at the arcade café.

  • Fees and surprises: Nearby construction remains disclosed; a refundable deposit and extra cleaning charges can apply.
