Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical central base, strongest on breakfast and location rather than four-star polish. a large 4-star conference hotel beside Copenhagen’s lakes, scored for what it is.

Scandic Copenhagen is a large 4-star conference hotel beside the lakes, and we'd pick it for practical sightseeing rather than a boutique feel. Tivoli and Central Station are within walking distance. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the breakfast, while helpful staff and upper-floor views are other recurring strengths. Overall, it delivers a good city base, though not a particularly polished four-star experience.

Room choice matters: the smallest doubles draw complaints about cramped layouts, while larger categories earn warmer feedback. Recent reviews also flag ineffective cooling and uneven housekeeping; cleaning is on request, not automatic. Parking, early check-in and secure luggage storage carry extra charges. We'd skip it if you expect spacious entry-level rooms, daily servicing without asking, or lots of little extras included.

• Best for: short sightseeing breaks; conference travelers; travelers prioritizing breakfast and transport

• Watch out for: compact entry-level doubles; on-request housekeeping and cooling complaints; parking, early check-in and luggage-storage charges

• Location: Beside the lakes, roughly a 10-minute walk from Tivoli and Central Station.

• Rooms: Smallest doubles can feel cramped; larger categories and upper-floor views are stronger bets.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive ratings, but recent guests report uneven cleaning; servicing must be requested.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though follow-through on requests is less consistent.

• Amenities: Breakfast buffet, restaurant, lobby bar, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour gym and sauna.

• Fees and surprises: Paid garage and secure luggage storage; early check-in costs extra and depends on availability.
