Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical Copenhagen base, but choose your room carefully if sleep matters. a no-frills 3-star beside Østerport Station, scored for what it is.

Go Hotel Østerport is a no-frills 3-star beside Østerport Station: a good-value base for exploring Copenhagen rather than somewhere to linger. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise clean, functional rooms, helpful staff and easy access to trains, the metro and nearby sights. We'd choose it for a short city break where convenience matters more than extras; the free gym is a useful bonus.

The main compromise is the railway immediately alongside the building. Noise and vibration recur across review sites, especially in Railway Sleeper rooms; book a city-facing Sleeper for a better chance of quiet, not guaranteed silence. Guests also report no air-conditioning, making warm nights awkward when opening windows lets in more noise. There is no elevator, and luggage storage costs extra. We'd skip it for step-free access or reliably silent sleep.

• Best for: value-minded city-break travelers; travelers using trains and the metro; short sightseeing stays

• Watch out for: train noise and vibration in railway-facing rooms; no air-conditioning; stairs and no elevator

• Location: Excellent transport access at Østerport, with Kastellet and the Little Mermaid within walking distance.

• Rooms: Simple and functional; city-facing Sleepers are the quieter choice, while guests report no air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across recent reviews; housekeeping during your stay must be requested.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff are a recurring positive; reception is staffed around the clock.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and gym, breakfast buffet, lounge areas, snacks and drinks, and paid bike rental.

• Fees and surprises: Budget for breakfast unless included, luggage lockers and limited paid parking; a deposit may be required.
