Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong apartment-style base with generous space, excellent fitness facilities and clear housekeeping trade-offs. a 4-star apartment hotel in residential Østerbro, scored for what it is.

Charlottehaven is a 4-star apartment hotel in residential Østerbro, and we'd pick it for space and independence rather than full-service pampering. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, well-equipped apartments, helpful staff and the gym. Kitchens make longer stays practical, while nearby Nordhavn trains and metro keep sightseeing straightforward without staying in the tourist bustle.

Choose your building and room category carefully: Garden apartments have balconies; Tower suites offer their best views higher up, with the café, pool and gym in the separate Garden building. Housekeeping is weekly, not daily—a confirmed policy behind several disappointed reviews. The pool excludes children under five. We'd skip it if daily room servicing or walking straight into the historic centre matters more than apartment space.

• Best for: families wanting kitchen facilities; longer stays and business trips; travelers who prioritize a proper gym

• Watch out for: weekly rather than daily housekeeping; building and floor determine views and convenience; no pool access for children under five

• Location: Residential Østerbro near Nordhavn metro and trains; convenient transport rather than a historic-centre doorstep.

• Rooms: Spacious, kitchen-equipped accommodation; Garden balconies and higher-floor Tower views are distinct booking choices.

• Cleanliness: Strong ratings across major sites; the main housekeeping caveat is weekly servicing.

• Service: Recent reviews mostly praise friendly, helpful staff, though some guests report disappointing problem handling.

• Amenities: Included gym, indoor pool and sauna access; café serves breakfast and lunch, with facilities in the Garden building.

• Fees and surprises: Extra housekeeping, breakfast and short-stay parking cost extra; towel changes are available free on request.
