Axel's take: 6.2/10

Convenient and often friendly, but cleanliness and upkeep make this a cautious budget choice. a basic, aging 3-star roadside hotel off I-77, scored for what it is.

This is a basic, aging 3-star hotel in Independence, better suited to a short roadside stop than a Cleveland vacation base. Free parking, breakfast and Wi-Fi cover the essentials, and nearby restaurants make dinner easy. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff; some also report clean rooms and comfortable beds. We'd consider it for a practical overnight, but it isn't a dependable all-rounder.

The main drawback is inconsistent housekeeping paired with tired rooms. Recent reviews across both sites describe dirty surfaces, lingering odors and worn bathrooms, with occasional plumbing or television problems. Those reports sit alongside genuinely positive stays, so not every room disappoints—but the uncertainty matters even at this level. We'd skip it for a longer stay or if reliable cleanliness is your first priority.

• Best for: budget-conscious drivers stopping overnight; travelers bringing pets

• Watch out for: inconsistent room cleanliness and odors; aging bathrooms and maintenance issues; pet charges and a check-in deposit

• Location: Convenient off I-77, with restaurants nearby; better for drivers than a downtown-focused stay.

• Rooms: Some guests find beds comfortable, but dated fittings and recurring maintenance complaints reduce reliability.

• Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room praise coexists with repeated recent reports of dirty surfaces, bedding concerns and odors.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though problem handling is not universally praised.

• Amenities: Free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi, plus a business center and small meeting room.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a check-in deposit, pet charges, and fees for early check-in or late checkout.
