Axel's take: 8.2/10

A dependable downtown base, especially if you can leave the car behind. a limited-service 3-star in downtown Cleveland, scored for what it is.

This limited-service 3-star is a strong pick for exploring downtown Cleveland without much driving. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Progressive Field and convention center are within walking distance, and recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Included hot breakfast and Wi-Fi make it a practical choice rather than a hotel you book for elaborate amenities.

The biggest catch is parking: Hilton offers paid valet but no hotel self-parking, and guests mention nearby garages as alternatives. Street-facing rooms can pick up revving engines and traffic noise. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, though some recent Tripadvisor guests describe disappointing food and slow replenishment. We'd choose it for sightseeing or a game weekend; skip it if a pool, reliably quiet surroundings or easy parking is essential.

• Best for: car-free downtown sightseeing; baseball and concert weekends; convention visitors

• Watch out for: paid valet; no hotel self-parking; street noise in some rooms; no swimming pool

• Location: Walkable downtown base for the Rock Hall, ballpark and convention center.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well received; street-facing rooms can hear traffic.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, especially on Expedia, with occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though experiences are not uniformly positive.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and a fitness center; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking costs extra; no hotel self-parking or airport shuttle, and pets incur a nonrefundable fee.
