Hotels in Myrtle Beacha budget, limited-service hotel inland from the beach
6.2/10
Roomy and convenient for drivers, but cleaning and upkeep make this a cautious pick.
Comfort Suites Myrtle Beach Central is a budget, limited-service hotel, not a beachfront resort. We'd consider it for a short, car-based stay: spacious rooms, free parking and included hot breakfast cover the practical basics. Booking.com guests often praise the staff and room size, and the location works for the airport, Coastal Grand Mall and Ripken Experience.
The catch is inconsistent housekeeping and maintenance, not simply dated décor. Recent guests across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia's travel network report musty smells, stained carpets and bathrooms needing attention, alongside guests who found their rooms clean and comfortable. Hot-water and air-conditioning complaints also recur. The pool is seasonal and outdoors, and Expedia lists a nightly resort fee plus a security deposit. We'd skip it for a beach-first vacation or if dependable cleanliness matters more than extra space.

Best for: short stays with a car; budget travelers wanting extra room
Watch out for: recurring musty smells and cleaning complaints; beach requires a drive; resort fee and security deposit
Location: Inland frontage-road setting convenient for the airport, mall and Ripken Experience; not beachfront.
Rooms: Generous space with refrigerators and microwaves, but dated furnishings and recurring plumbing or AC complaints.
Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room praise sits alongside repeated recent reports of stained carpets, damp odors and dirty bathrooms.
Service: Friendly desk staff earn praise, but complaint handling and refund disputes draw criticism.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast, free parking and Wi-Fi, a gym and a seasonal outdoor pool; no indoor pool advertised.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a nightly resort fee and deposit; Choice specifies conditional deposits, pet charges and a minimum check-in age of 21. Confirm terms directly.
