8.5/10
A strong beach-and-city base, with friendly staff and straightforward rooms.
Hotel 54 Barceloneta is a small 3-star facing Port Vell, a few minutes from the beach. It's a strong pick for travelers who want seaside walks and neighborhood restaurants without needing resort facilities. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and location; recent Tripadvisor reviews broadly agree. The hotel describes its 28 rooms as recently refurbished, though it gives no renovation date. Expect functional comfort rather than luxury.
The trade-offs are space and extras: rooms are compact, breakfast can cost extra, and there's no on-site parking. We'd confirm rooftop bar service before booking specifically for it: an April 2026 Expedia guest reported it closed, although a later Tripadvisor guest enjoyed the terrace itself. Choose it for a beach-focused city break; skip it if spacious rooms or extensive facilities matter more than location.
