Hotels in Barcelonaa contemporary 5-star luxury hotel on Passeig de Gràcia
8.9/10
A strong luxury city base, with standout service but some compact rooms.
Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is a contemporary 5-star luxury hotel whose strongest arguments are its Passeig de Gràcia address and attentive staff. We'd pick it for a city break built around architecture, shopping and good restaurants. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful team, cleanliness and comfortable rooms. The spa, indoor pool and seasonal rooftop dipping pool give it more substance than a prestigious address alone.
The main compromise is space: several Expedia guests find the rooms small for this level, and the hotel lists Deluxe Garden rooms at 32 square metres. Choose the category carefully rather than expecting suite-like proportions. The rooftop pool is for cooling off, not serious swimming. Crónica Global reported renovation plans in May 2026, but the sources checked don't establish a work schedule; confirm before booking. We'd skip it if generous entry-level rooms or resort-style outdoor facilities matter most.
