Hotels in Barcelonaa five-star city hotel opposite Barcelona Cathedral
8.7/10
A strong Gothic Quarter base, with cathedral views worth choosing your room carefully for.
Lamaro is a five-star city hotel opposite Barcelona Cathedral, formerly known as Hotel Colón. We'd choose it for exploring the Gothic Quarter on foot rather than for a resort-style luxury stay. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the location, comfortable rooms and attentive staff, while recent Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the generally strong cleanliness. The rooftop bar's close-up cathedral views give it a real advantage over many central alternatives.
Room selection matters: some inward-facing rooms feel dark, and the hotel guarantees cathedral views only in its Premium Suite and Grand Master Suite categories. Reports of bells and square noise vary, so light sleepers should discuss room placement before booking. Rooftop service also draws some repeated criticism despite the broader praise for staff. It's a strong sightseeing pick; we'd look elsewhere if hushed surroundings and uniformly polished five-star service are your priorities.
