Hotels in BarcelonaA design-minded urban hostel with dorms and private rooms near Diagonal
7.6/10
A strong sightseeing base, but room consistency and cooling need improvement.
Casa Gracia is a design-minded hostel, not a conventional hotel, with dorms and private rooms on Passeig de Gràcia. Now part of Room Urban Hostel, it underwent a refurbishment completed in 2026. We'd choose it for easy sightseeing, characterful common spaces and a shared kitchen rather than hotel-style polish. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the location, while recent Expedia reviews also highlight comfortable beds and helpful staff.
The trade-off is inconsistency: recent guests across Expedia and Tripadvisor report air-conditioning failures, and Tripadvisor reviews describe noise and rooms that disappoint compared with their photos. Overall cleanliness ratings remain positive, but bathroom upkeep draws some criticism. We'd skip it for reliably quiet nights or dependable summer cooling. Expedia also lists a November 5–15 closure; confirm those dates directly before planning around them.
