Axel's take: 7.4/10

Friendly staff and skyline views help, but aging rooms and elevator work limit the appeal. a full-service 4-star conference hotel in Uptown Charlotte, scored for what it is.

Le Méridien Charlotte is a full-service 4-star conference hotel that works better as a practical Uptown base than a polished luxury escape. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the welcoming staff, and cleanliness scores remain reassuring. The rooftop bar’s skyline views, on-site dining and fitness center give it more appeal than a straightforward business hotel.

The trade-offs are real: recent guests repeatedly describe dated rooms, noisy air conditioning and long elevator waits. Marriott’s management confirms elevator modernization, while Expedia lists meeting-facility renovations through December 31, 2026, subject to change. Parking and breakfast cost extra. It’s a reasonable pick for an event-focused stay if you can tolerate disruption; we’d skip it for a special occasion or if dependable elevator access is essential.

• Best for: conference attendees; short Uptown business trips; travelers who enjoy rooftop drinks

• Watch out for: elevator modernization and recurring long waits; meeting-facility renovations through December 2026; dated rooms and noisy air conditioning

• Location: Uptown base within roughly a 15-minute walk of the convention center and Spectrum Center.

• Rooms: Comfort ratings are positive overall, but recent guests repeatedly flag dated finishes and noisy HVAC.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength, with solid aggregate scores on Booking.com and Expedia.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent cross-site highlight.

• Amenities: Rooftop bar, dining, gym and indoor pool; the outdoor pool operates seasonally.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra; Expedia lists a damage deposit, and renovation disruption remains relevant.
