Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong budget pick for friendly service and light-rail access, with some rough edges. a no-frills independent 2-star near Charlotte’s light rail, scored for what it is.

315@Loso is a no-frills independent 2-star that makes a convincing case on the basics. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds, with recent Expedia feedback remaining strongly positive. Free parking, in-room microwaves and fridges, and a short walk to Woodlawn light rail make it a practical base for Charlotte without staying Uptown. We'd choose it for straightforward comfort and good value, not boutique polish.

The hotel advertises refreshed rooms, but noise and uneven maintenance still surface in guest feedback, particularly on Tripadvisor’s much smaller review sample. Breakfast isn't provided, and a damage deposit is required. It's a strong pick for budget-conscious visitors who prioritize useful transport connections; we'd skip it if you're a light sleeper or expect consistently polished finishes and full-service amenities.

• Best for: budget-conscious Charlotte visitors; concertgoers using light rail; travelers arriving by car

• Watch out for: occasional noise and maintenance complaints; no breakfast provided; damage deposit required

• Location: About five minutes’ walk to Woodlawn Station; convenient for rail trips rather than an Uptown doorstep.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds, microwaves and mini-fridges; refreshed rooms still draw some maintenance and noise complaints.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings on Booking.com and Expedia, reinforced by recent guest feedback.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are the clearest recurring strength across the larger review sites.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and parking, a 24-hour gym and terrace; breakfast is not provided.

• Fees and surprises: A damage deposit and pet charges apply; Expedia lists credit-card payment rather than cash.
