Axel's take: 9.1/10
A strong Charleston base for apartment-style comfort, attentive service and quieter evenings. an upscale vacation-ownership hotel with studios and apartment-style suites, scored for what it is.
This upscale vacation-ownership hotel is a strong pick if you want contemporary comfort rather than a historic inn. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise exceptionally clean rooms, comfortable furnishings and helpful staff, with particularly warm mentions for the valet team. Suites add full kitchens and separate living areas; studios have smaller kitchenettes. It makes especially good sense for longer stays.
The trade-off is location versus immediacy: you're on the edge of the historic district, roughly a 15-minute walk from the market rather than amid its bustle. There's no pool or spa, dining centers on a casual café and lobby bar, and parking is paid valet only. The 10 a.m. checkout also deserves planning. We'd skip it for a pool-focused family break or a full-service luxury-hotel experience.
