Axel's take: 8.2/10

A comfortable airport base with friendly staff, but not a downtown address. a practical mid-range chain hotel near Burlington’s airport, scored for what it is.

Delta Burlington is a practical mid-range chain hotel, strongest for airport nights and trips with a car. We'd pick it for comfortable beds, generally clean rooms and staff who earn repeated praise on Expedia and Tripadvisor. Free parking and an airport shuttle add convenience, while the indoor pool, hot tub and Duke’s Public House make staying on-site easy. Recent guest ratings are solid rather than exceptional.

The compromise is character and location: this is a South Burlington road-side base, not a walk-out-the-door downtown stay. Tripadvisor guests describe some dated finishes and occasional mustiness, although newer Expedia feedback is largely positive about room condition. Restaurant service can be slow. Management has announced renovations, but completion wasn't verified. We'd skip it for a polished boutique experience or a car-free weekend centered on Church Street.

• Best for: early flights and airport stopovers; business travelers with a car; families wanting an indoor pool

• Watch out for: not walkable to downtown attractions; some dated finishes and mustiness reports; occasionally slow restaurant service

• Location: Close to BTV and convenient for driving into Burlington; less suited to downtown exploring on foot.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally good space; condition varies, with some older finishes and compact bathrooms.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, especially on Expedia, tempered by occasional Tripadvisor reports of musty odors.

• Service: Friendly, helpful hotel and shuttle staff are a consistent strength; restaurant service is less dependable.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, Duke’s Public House and complimentary airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: On-site parking is free; breakfast costs extra unless included in the booking. Announced renovation completion is unverified.
