Axel's take: 8.0/10
A solid Burlington-area base with helpful staff, but uneven upkeep and nearby roadwork. A practical 3-star chain hotel off I-89 near Burlington, scored for what it is.
Hampton Inn Colchester is a practical 3-star chain hotel off I-89, better suited to driving around Greater Burlington than exploring downtown on foot. It’s a good pick for campus visits and overnight stops: Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and breakfast. Free parking, an indoor pool and rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges make it useful for families, too.
The trade-off is consistency. Most recent Expedia guests describe clean rooms, but Tripadvisor reports include housekeeping misses and maintenance problems, so don’t expect uniformly fresh surroundings. Nearby Exit 16 interchange construction remains active in October 2026, with completion scheduled for July 2027; one summer guest reported bright overnight work lights. We’d skip it for a car-free Burlington break or if pristine room condition is your priority.
