Axel's take: 8.0/10

A dependable airport stopover, provided you can overlook the dated rooms. a practical 3-star airport hotel with a free shuttle, scored for what it is.

Novotel Brussels Airport is a practical 3-star for a night before or after flying, rather than a Brussels sightseeing base. We'd pick it for the free airport shuttle, comfortable beds and generally helpful staff. Recent Expedia and Accor guests repeatedly praise clean, reasonably spacious rooms and straightforward transfers; breakfast also gets plenty of positive mentions. It's a strong choice when convenience matters more than fresh interiors.

The main compromise is condition: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests still describe tired furniture and aging bathrooms. Dinner draws mixed feedback, with some guests disappointed by the food or limited choices. Parking and breakfast cost extra unless included in your booking, and the shuttle runs to a schedule—confirm it against your flight. We'd skip it for a design-led stay or a city break centered on walking around Brussels.

• Best for: early departures and overnight connections; families needing an airport stopover; travelers using park-and-fly packages

• Watch out for: dated furniture and bathrooms; mixed dinner reviews; scheduled rather than on-demand shuttle

• Location: Close to Brussels Airport, but not at the terminal; less convenient for central Brussels sightseeing.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable for this class, though dated fittings remain a recurring complaint.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive across Booking.com and Expedia; occasional housekeeping complaints do not dominate the evidence.

• Service: Helpful reception and restaurant staff receive frequent praise, with some uneven individual experiences.

• Amenities: Free airport shuttle, restaurant, bar, Wi-Fi, children's play areas and a gym; Accor lists gym access as chargeable.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast are extra unless included; check shuttle operating times before booking.
