#3 of 6 hotels in Sainte-Catherine & Dansaert by Axel's take. Sainte-Catherine & Dansaert is #3 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in Sainte-Catherine & Dansaert, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A strong self-catering base, with tired interiors and a summer heat caveat. a practical mid-range aparthotel in central Brussels, scored for what it is.

Citadines Sainte-Catherine is a practical mid-range aparthotel whose strongest assets are its kitchens and location. With the metro almost outside and Grand-Place roughly ten minutes away on foot, it's a strong pick for independent sightseeing. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff, clean accommodation and useful kitchen facilities. We'd choose it for everyday convenience rather than stylish interiors; the garden and complimentary lobby coffee are welcome extras.

The main compromise is summer comfort: rooms lack air-conditioning, and opening windows can bring noise from the lively square. Reviews also describe aging fittings and occasional maintenance problems. Housekeeping is weekly rather than daily, with extra cleaning charged separately; breakfast and parking also cost extra. We'd skip it if you need dependable cooling, polished rooms or full daily hotel service.

  • Best for: self-catering city breaks; families wanting apartment space; travelers prioritizing metro access

  • Watch out for: no air-conditioning in summer; square-facing noise with windows open; weekly rather than daily housekeeping

  • Location: Beside Sainte-Catherine metro, restaurants and cafés; roughly ten minutes' walk to Grand-Place.

  • Rooms: Studios and one-bedroom apartments with kitchens; practical but aging, without air-conditioning.

  • Cleanliness: Recent feedback is generally positive, despite recurring comments about worn finishes.

  • Service: Reception staff earn frequent praise; some guests report slow messaging or unresolved repairs.

  • Amenities: Garden, free lobby hot drinks, Wi-Fi, guest laundry and optional breakfast.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast, parking, pets and extra cleaning carry charges; parking is subject to availability.
