#5 of 9 hotels in European Quarter by Axel's take. European Quarter is #5 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in European Quarter, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A dependable EU-quarter base with helpful staff, though rooms could use refreshing. a practical 4-star business hotel in Brussels’ European Quarter, scored for what it is.

NH Brussels EU Berlaymont is a practical 4-star business hotel, strongest for European Commission visits rather than doorstep sightseeing. Schuman station is close, so exploring central Brussels is straightforward. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms; breakfast also earns plenty of compliments. We'd pick it for a comfortable, well-connected stay without expecting much design flair.

The main compromise is condition: recent guests still describe dated décor, carpets and bathrooms, despite mostly positive comfort ratings. Wi-Fi attracts complaints across sites, worth considering if reliable connectivity is essential for work. Breakfast can feel expensive when booked separately, and the paid garage has a narrow entrance and cannot be reserved. We'd skip it if freshly updated interiors or walking straight into the historic center matter most.

  • Best for: visitors to EU institutions; business travelers; city breaks using public transport

  • Watch out for: dated décor and bathrooms; reports of unreliable Wi-Fi; narrow, unreservable paid parking

  • Location: Beside the European Commission and close to Schuman station; less convenient for exploring the historic center entirely on foot.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and in-room coffee machines, but décor and bathroom condition draw recurring criticism.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall guest ratings for cleanliness, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a dominant pattern.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception and attentive staff are consistent strengths across review sites.

  • Amenities: Buffet breakfast, gym, bar, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and indoor parking with EV charging.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; parking costs extra and cannot be reserved. Schuman roadworks ended October 5, 2026, but vehicle-access restrictions remain.
