#6 of 9 hotels in Rogier & Gare du Nord by Axel's take. Rogier & Gare du Nord is #6 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in Rogier & Gare du Nord, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Excellent transport links, but uneven rooms make this a qualified pick. a historic 4-star city hotel beside Rogier metro, scored for what it is.

This historic 4-star beside Rogier metro is a practical Brussels base, rather than a reliably polished stay. Formerly Hotel des Colonies, it combines period character with refurbished spaces, and Brussels-North station is a short walk away. Booking.com and Trip.com guests particularly praise the location and welcoming staff; comfortable beds and spacious rooms also earn frequent mentions. We'd consider it for a short city break, provided the room allocation is confirmed.

The catch is consistency. Despite Accor advertising renovated rooms, recent guests still describe worn furnishings, bathroom faults and occasional cleaning lapses, alongside much happier reports. Renovation work remains a consideration, and Accor currently says the fitness room is closed for renovation. Full room cleaning is on request. We'd skip it if dependable four-star finish, daily housekeeping or an available gym matters more than location.

  • Best for: short city breaks; travelers using Brussels-North; sightseers prioritizing metro access

  • Watch out for: uneven room condition; renovation work and closed gym; full housekeeping on request

  • Location: Beside Rogier metro, with shopping nearby and Brussels-North roughly seven minutes away on foot.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and some spacious refurbished rooms, but recent reports show uneven maintenance and finish.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive on Booking.com and Trip.com, tempered by recent Accor complaints about dust and bathroom cleanliness.

  • Service: Friendly reception is a recurring strength; problem handling is less consistent.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast and meeting rooms; Accor currently lists the gym as closed for renovation.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra unless included; confirm room allocation and request full housekeeping when needed.
