#8 of 8 hotels in Sablon by Axel's take. Sablon is #2 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in Sablon, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A friendly, well-placed city base, but check renovation progress before booking. a compact, no-frills 3-star near Avenue Louise, scored for what it is.

Argus is a compact, no-frills 3-star near Avenue Louise, best approached as a practical base rather than somewhere to linger. We'd shortlist it for a short Brussels break: Louise metro is nearby, and Grand Place is roughly a 20-minute walk away. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms. Breakfast also earns plenty of positive mentions.

Space and condition are the compromises: the hotel lists standard doubles at 15 square metres, while guests describe some older bathrooms and wear. More importantly, an Expedia guest reported lobby and lower-floor renovations in September 2026; completion isn't confirmed. Ask what's still underway before booking. We'd skip it if you want spacious rooms or polished surroundings, and confirm accessibility directly if you need step-free access.

  • Best for: short sightseeing breaks; solo travelers packing light; travelers prioritizing metro access

  • Watch out for: lobby renovations reported in September 2026; compact rooms and some older bathrooms; small lift; confirm step-free access

  • Location: Near Avenue Louise and Louise metro, roughly 20 minutes on foot from Grand Place.

  • Rooms: Standard doubles are 15 square metres; comfortable beds earn praise, but some guests report wear.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive across Booking.com and Expedia, rather than consistently spotless.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are the most consistent strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, 24-hour reception, luggage storage and a paid buffet breakfast.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax and extras can apply; nearby parking is paid, and September 2026 lobby works need checking.
