#9 of 9 hotels in Grand Place & Historic Center by Axel's take. Grand Place & Historic Center is #1 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in Grand Place & Historic Center, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A practical central base, with generous rooms but some dated edges. a full-service 4-star opposite Brussels Central station, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star opposite Brussels Central is a strong pick for sightseeing and rail trips, rather than a hotel to book for its design. Grand Place is a short walk away, and Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise the convenient location, comfortable rooms and cleanliness. Family rooms are a particular strength, while breakfast generally earns good feedback. We'd choose it for an easy Brussels base with proper hotel facilities.

The trade-off is uneven polish. Recent guests on both sites describe some dated fittings, and scattered reports of plumbing problems and slow housekeeping suggest maintenance and service aren't completely consistent. Those complaints sit alongside plenty of positive stays, not a broadly troubled picture. We'd skip it if fresh interiors and consistently attentive service matter more than space and station access.

  • Best for: sightseers exploring on foot; travelers taking rail day trips; families wanting larger rooms

  • Watch out for: some dated rooms and fittings; occasional maintenance and housekeeping lapses; breakfast and parking may cost extra

  • Location: Opposite Brussels Central, with Grand Place and major museums within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and generously sized; family options stand out, but some fittings show age.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive across sites, despite occasional housekeeping misses.

  • Service: Many guests praise helpful staff; response times and front-desk warmth can vary.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, fitness center and executive lounge; lounge access depends on eligibility.

  • Fees and surprises: Paid public parking with direct hotel access; pet fees apply, and breakfast inclusion varies.
