#9 of 9 hotels in Rogier & Gare du Nord by Axel's take. Rogier & Gare du Nord is #6 of 9 places to stay in Brussels. The best hotels in Rogier & Gare du Nord, ranked · Where to stay in Brussels

Axel's take: 7.1/10

A practical budget base, but noise and the immediate surroundings are real trade-offs. a no-frills 3-star near Brussels-North station, scored for what it is.

Best Western City Centre is a no-frills 3-star near Botanique and Brussels-North, worth considering for a short, budget-minded stay. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests frequently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com’s overall feedback is also positive. It delivers the basics rather than a hotel experience worth lingering over, with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and an optional breakfast buffet.

The compromises are outside your door and sometimes audible through it. Guests across sites describe the surrounding streets as uncomfortable after dark, although others report no problems. Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly flag street noise, with some housekeeping and maintenance complaints alongside happier stays. Request a quieter room away from the road and lift. We'd skip it for a peaceful getaway or if neighborhood atmosphere matters more than transport convenience.

Best for: budget-minded city breaks; short stays near Brussels-North; travelers prioritizing transport connections
Watch out for: street and lift noise; surroundings can feel uncomfortable after dark; room size and condition vary
Location: Handy for Botanique, Brussels-North and walking into the center; immediate surroundings divide guests.
Rooms: Functional, air-conditioned rooms; Trip.com lists a 2026 renovation, but its scope is not confirmed by the official site.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive recent feedback, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a consistent cleanliness problem.
Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, though Tripadvisor includes complaints about communication and attitude.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception and paid buffet breakfast; no on-site parking.
Fees and surprises: City tax is payable at the property; breakfast may cost extra, depending on the booking.
