Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong central pick for space and value, with uneven room upkeep. a traditional 4-star all-suite hotel in central Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Tequendama Suites Bogotá is a traditional 4-star all-suite hotel near the National Museum, strongest on apartment-style space rather than contemporary polish. We'd shortlist it for families and longer stays that need room to spread out. Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise the generous layouts, cleanliness and breakfast, with helpful staff another frequent positive. It's a good-value central base if sightseeing matters more than fashionable surroundings.

The trade-off is consistency. Recent reviews describe dated furnishings, occasional maintenance faults and street noise; some guests also report missing refrigerators or kitchen equipment despite the apartment-style setup. Confirm your exact suite's facilities before relying on self-catering, and request a quieter room if sleep is a priority. We'd skip it if you expect uniformly modern interiors or seamless upscale service.

• Best for: families wanting extra space; longer stays with confirmed kitchen facilities; museum-focused city breaks

• Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven maintenance; street noise in some suites; kitchen equipment varies by room

• Location: Central location close to the National Museum, Torre Colpatria and restaurants.

• Rooms: Generous suite layouts; condition and kitchen equipment vary, so confirm the exact category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest reviews, including otherwise critical accounts.

• Service: Often friendly and helpful, though reception and problem handling receive mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Restaurant, gym, spa, steam room and laundry; confirm spa access conditions before booking.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast is not included in every rate; transfers and pets cost extra. A broader refurbishment plan is announced, but current disruption is unconfirmed.
