Axel's take: 8.2/10

A good-value northern Bogotá base, strongest on location, cleanliness and helpful staff. A small, traditional mid-range hotel near Unicentro in northern Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Egina is a small, traditional mid-range hotel in Usaquén, a strong pick if you want good value near Unicentro rather than a luxury stay. Recent Expedia and Agoda guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and walkable access to shops and restaurants. Included buffet breakfast adds to the appeal, and the overall feedback is reassuringly positive for a straightforward city hotel.

The compromises are mostly practical: some rooms are small, and Agoda guests report no air-conditioning and occasional nighttime warmth. English can be limited, though guests describe staff making an effort. Wi-Fi feedback is mixed, including a June 2026 Tripadvisor complaint about unusable work connections; remote workers should verify it before committing. We'd choose it for northern Bogotá errands or shopping, but skip it if cooling or dependable video calls are essential.

• Best for: Value-minded couples and solo travelers; Shopping and appointments near Unicentro; Travelers spending most of their time in northern Bogotá

• Watch out for: No air-conditioning reported; rooms can feel warm; Mixed Wi-Fi reliability; Limited English spoken

• Location: Walkable to Unicentro, cafés and restaurants; better suited to northern Bogotá than a historic-center-focused trip.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and clean, but some are small; guests report no air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength on Expedia and Agoda, despite occasional bathroom-detail complaints on Tripadvisor.

• Service: Helpful, courteous staff draw repeated praise; a translation app may be useful.

• Amenities: Buffet breakfast included; Expedia also lists a restaurant, bar, gym, steam room and free self-parking.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and early check-in cost extra; confirm any early-arrival charge beforehand.
