Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical airport stopover, with basic comforts and uneven service. a simple 3-star guesthouse near Bogotá’s airport, scored for what it is.

Casa Huesped Kiwi is a simple 3-star guesthouse in Fontibón, best treated as an airport stopover rather than a base for sightseeing. It’s a reasonable pick for a short, budget-minded stay: Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and airport convenience. Private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and breakfast cover the essentials without much polish.

The compromises are worth knowing. Guest reviews repeatedly mention outside noise, while several describe unreliable hot water or inconsistent reception and reservation handling. There’s no elevator, and a guest places the breakfast room on the fourth floor. Breakfast itself gets mixed reactions, so confirm timing before an early flight. We’d skip it for a quiet city break or if stairs are difficult; otherwise, it can do the job for a night between flights.

• Best for: budget-minded airport stopovers; short stays before a flight

• Watch out for: outside noise and uneven hot water; stairs only; no elevator; confirm reservations and late arrivals

• Location: Fontibón location suits airport connections better than a sightseeing-focused stay.

• Rooms: Basic private-bathroom rooms; noise and shower reliability receive recurring criticism.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength in ratings and comments, though some guests report bedding issues.

• Service: Helpful staff earn praise, but reception responsiveness and booking handling are inconsistent.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, breakfast and a restaurant; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast hours and arrival arrangements directly.
