Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong sightseeing base with spacious rooms, helpful staff and some city noise. a modern, straightforward mid-range hotel beside La Candelaria, scored for what it is.

BH Bicentenario is a modern, straightforward mid-range hotel beside La Candelaria, and we'd pick it for exploring Bogotá's historic center on foot. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. Some rooms have Monserrate views, and the controlled entrance and key-access floors earn appreciative mentions. It's a strong choice if sightseeing matters more than extensive facilities.

The main compromise is noise: guests describe street and park activity reaching some rooms, so request a quieter room if you're sensitive. Wi-Fi is a weaker point than comfort or service, with occasional patchy connections reported. Breakfast generally gets positive feedback, though not everyone finds it varied. We'd skip it for a hush-quiet retreat or a stay that depends on consistently strong internet.

• Best for: first-time Bogotá sightseers; couples wanting space and comfort; travelers prioritizing walkable museums

• Watch out for: street and park noise in some rooms; occasionally patchy Wi-Fi; breakfast inclusion depends on your booking

• Location: Convenient for the Gold Museum and La Candelaria's sights; a busy downtown setting.

• Rooms: Spacious, contemporary rooms with comfortable beds; views and noise exposure vary.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent reviews and major booking-site ratings.

• Service: Staff regularly earn praise for helpfulness; guests appreciate controlled building access.

• Amenities: Breakfast, bar, terrace, free Wi-Fi and business facilities cover the practical basics.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; check whether breakfast is included and confirm parking arrangements.
