Axel's take: 8.9/10

Excellent rooms and wellness facilities, but not the best base for exploring on foot. a modern 5-star business hotel in Ciudad Salitre, scored for what it is.

Grand Hyatt Bogotá is a modern 5-star business hotel that makes a strong case for choosing comfort over a central sightseeing address. We'd pick it for the spacious rooms, generous wellness facilities and consistently praised cleanliness. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly highlight attentive staff, comfortable beds and a substantial breakfast buffet. Hyatt lists standard rooms at 41 square meters, plus a semi-Olympic indoor pool, spa and 24-hour gym.

The main compromise is location: Ciudad Salitre suits airport access and business trips better than walking between historic sights and nightlife. Expect to arrange rides for much of your exploring. Service is overwhelmingly well reviewed, though some recent guests describe reservation mishaps, checkout delays and tax-related billing surprises. Confirm breakfast inclusions and the final tax treatment before arrival. We'd skip it for a short trip centered on neighborhood wandering.

• Best for: business travelers; spa and swimming enthusiasts; travelers prioritizing spacious rooms

• Watch out for: rides needed for many tourist sights; occasional reservation and checkout friction; confirm breakfast and tax inclusions

• Location: Convenient for airport access; less practical for sightseeing and nightlife on foot.

• Rooms: Standard rooms start at 41 square meters; comfort, views and space earn repeated praise.

• Cleanliness: A standout strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews.

• Service: Usually warm and professional, with occasional reservation and checkout lapses.

• Amenities: Semi-Olympic indoor pool, substantial spa, 24-hour gym and two restaurants.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast depends on the booking plan; parking and airport transfers cost extra; clarify applicable taxes.
