Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong Zona Rosa base, with welcoming staff but some dated-room trade-offs. a traditional mid-range city hotel in Bogotá’s Zona Rosa, scored for what it is.

GHL Hamilton is a traditional mid-range city hotel whose strongest selling point is its walkable Zona Rosa location near Andino, restaurants and nightlife. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prioritize convenience and friendly service over contemporary design. Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable rooms and buffet breakfast; cleanliness also earns consistently strong marks.

The compromises are worth knowing: recent Booking.com and Expedia reviews mention aging furniture and carpets, while nearby bars can make weekend nights noisy. Air-conditioning appears in the official room amenities, but guest reports conflict, so confirm it directly if cooling matters to you. We’d choose it for shopping, dining and straightforward comfort, but light sleepers and travelers wanting freshly updated interiors should look elsewhere.

• Best for: shopping and dining trips; travelers who value helpful staff; business travelers wanting a walkable base

• Watch out for: weekend nightlife noise; dated furniture and carpets in some rooms; conflicting reports about air-conditioning

• Location: Near Zona T, Andino and Atlantis Plaza, with restaurants and nightlife within walking distance.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and generously sized according to guests, though some furnishings and carpets feel tired.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, with a smaller recurring concern about old or unpleasant-smelling carpets.

• Service: Friendly, attentive staff are one of the most consistent strengths across review sites.

• Amenities: Restaurant, buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, room service and a 24-hour reception.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; airport transfers and early check-in or late check-out carry extra charges.
