Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong luxury city base, with standout service rather than grand-hotel spectacle. a small, contemporary 5-star hotel in Zona T, scored for what it is.

Four Seasons Bogotá is a small, contemporary 5-star in Zona T, best chosen for attentive service and restaurants, shopping and nightlife within walking distance. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and clean, well-kept rooms. We'd pick it for a polished city stay where getting out into the neighborhood matters more than spending all day at the hotel.

The trade-off is scale: facilities are limited for a luxury hotel, and entry-level rooms are compact rather than sprawling. There's a spa, a 24-hour gym and a steam room, but this isn't a resort-style retreat. It also lacks sister property Casa Medina's historic character. Skip it if architectural atmosphere or extensive leisure facilities are central to your trip.

• Best for: couples exploring restaurants and nightlife; luxury travelers who prefer smaller hotels; business travelers wanting attentive service

• Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; limited leisure facilities for the class; breakfast and airport transfers may cost extra

• Location: Walkable Zona T base for dining, shopping and nightlife.

• Rooms: Contemporary rooms with highly praised beds; suites offer more breathing room.

• Cleanliness: Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, well-kept rooms.

• Service: Personal, accommodating staff and helpful concierge service are the clearest strengths.

• Amenities: Spa, 24-hour gym, steam room and round-the-clock room service; a relatively small facilities offering.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; airport transfers carry a surcharge, and Expedia lists no on-site parking.
