Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong pick for apartment space and metro access, with limited hotel service. a simple 3-star apartment hotel near Encants metro, scored for what it is.

Apartaments Independencia is a simple 3-star apartment hotel that makes sense for families and independent city breaks. Its strongest assets are generous living space, kitchens and Encants metro nearby, with Sagrada Família roughly 15 minutes away on foot. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise the space, cleanliness and convenient neighborhood shops. We'd choose it for practical comfort rather than stylish interiors or full hotel service.

The main compromise is the hands-off setup: reception has limited hours, automated check-in divides opinion, and included cleaning comes every five days. Recent reviews also flag uneven kitchen supplies and occasional cleaning or maintenance misses, although the overall cleanliness ratings remain strong. Wi-Fi is a weaker point on Booking.com. We'd skip it for work-critical internet or daily housekeeping; light sleepers should request a rear-facing bedroom.

Best for: families wanting separate living space; independent travelers using the metro; longer stays with light self-catering
Watch out for: automated check-in and limited reception hours; uneven Wi-Fi and kitchen supplies; street noise in road-facing bedrooms
Location: Near Encants and Clot metro stations, neighborhood shops and a roughly 15-minute walk to Sagrada Família.
Rooms: Spacious, simply furnished apartments with kitchens and air conditioning; some have balconies.
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, tempered by some recent reports of missed kitchen and bathroom cleaning.
Service: Limited-hours reception and automated check-in; guest experiences with arrival and problem handling vary.
Amenities: Kitchens, free Wi-Fi and a lift; confirm cooking equipment and laundry arrangements before relying on them.
Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra and requires reservation; tourist tax is collected separately, and extra cleaning is chargeable.
