Axel's take: 8.9/10

Strong seaside luxury for a city break, with wedding noise worth checking. a renovated 5-star city hotel on Antalya’s seafront cliffs, scored for what it is.

Akra Antalya is a renovated 5-star city hotel with resort-scale facilities, and we'd shortlist it for combining Antalya sightseeing with pool time. Its March 2025 refurbishment refreshed rooms and shared spaces; recent Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, helpful staff and food, particularly breakfast. Sea-view rooms are the draw, while the gym and extensive swimming facilities make staying on site appealing.

The main catch is the shoreline: this is a cliffside swimming platform, not a sandy beach, so we'd skip it for a sandcastle holiday. Tripadvisor guests also report wedding music reaching rooms until midnight; ask about events and request a room away from the venue if sleep matters. It's a strong fit for couples wanting city access and seaside downtime, rather than an isolated beach resort.

  • Best for: couples combining sightseeing and swimming; travelers who prioritize food and fitness; sea-view city breaks

  • Watch out for: platform sea access, not a sandy beach; wedding noise can reach guestrooms; check seasonal outdoor-facility dates

  • Location: Cliffside urban setting; Old Town is a taxi trip rather than right outside.

  • Rooms: Refurbished in 2025, with city- and sea-view choices; standard rooms are not especially expansive.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Booking.com feedback.

  • Service: Recent guests overwhelmingly praise helpful, attentive staff.

  • Amenities: Six pools, including adults-only and children's options; gym, spa and elevator-accessed swimming platform.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra unless included; the hotel lists beach and outdoor-pool operations for April–November, weather permitting.
