#5 of 9 hotels in Patong by Axel's take. Patong is #1 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Patong, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong social base near the beach, provided quiet nights aren't your priority. A social 3-star hostel-hotel with dorms and private rooms near Patong Beach, scored for what it is.

Lub d is a social 3-star hostel-hotel, not a conventional beach resort, and it's a strong pick for travelers who want company. Private rooms and four-bed dorms share an outdoor pool, bar and activity-filled common spaces, with Patong Beach and Bangla Road within walking distance. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, cleanliness and easy opportunities to meet people; Booking.com's overall feedback is also firmly positive.

The trade-off is noise: guests mention music and nighttime activity, and management acknowledges the lively atmosphere can interrupt quiet stays. Smaller private rooms can feel tight, so check the exact category rather than assuming hotel-style space. We'd choose it for a sociable solo trip or friends' beach-and-nightlife break, but skip it for an early-to-bed holiday or a peaceful couples' retreat.

Best for: Solo travelers looking to meet people; Friends combining beach time and nightlife; Travelers wanting hostel atmosphere with a private room
Watch out for: Music and nighttime social noise; Compact entry-level private rooms; Dorm beds and private rooms are separate booking categories
Location: Walkable to Patong Beach, Bangla Road, restaurants and shopping; not beachfront.
Rooms: Air-conditioned dorms and private rooms; guests repeatedly flag limited space in smaller categories.
Cleanliness: Generally a strength, with recent praise for rooms and shared bathrooms across review sites.
Service: Friendly staff and organized social activities earn repeated praise, despite occasional service complaints.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, bar, restaurant, coworking space and laundry facilities support the social setup.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; airport transfers cost extra, and room categories need careful checking.
